That’s a Wrap on First Semester 2023-2024

The first semester of the 2023-2024 Pursuit Institute (TPI) programs has come to an end and we are thrilled to share the progress our students have made. Our students have demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge, thanks to the incredible program partners and instructors who provided them with online and hands-on career and industry-related learning experiences. But that’s not all! Our students also had the opportunity to learn and practice soft skills, networking and team building.

At The Pursuit Institute Career and Tech Ed programs, we believe in providing students with practical learning experiences that help them build skills early on. These skills will stay with them for a lifetime, leading to continued personal and professional success.

During the first semester of the 2023-2024 TPI programs, our high school students gained valuable insights into their chosen industry and career paths. They also learned more about themselves, their strengths and their areas of improvement. Our students made a commitment to take on a learning experience Monday through Friday, spending half the day immersed in their learning. Despite their busy academic schedules, they arrived on time, took on new challenges and put in the work. Their reliability, ambition, and hard work were truly commendable.

Campbell, a high school junior in the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program (CCMA) with our partners at KLR Medical Certification Training School, has gained valuable insights into the medical industry and herself. She said, “I am well-equipped to enter the field and apply my knowledge in the workplace. The soft skills I have acquired have given me an additional perspective on emergency situations and how to handle complex information.” Piper, a high school senior in the CCMA program, is preparing for her second semester, where she will begin her rotations in a medical setting. She said, “This program provides you with the medical knowledge needed and prepares you for your future. I am looking forward to rotations and the hands-on experience.” Mary Ella, a high school senior in the CCMA program said, “This class has helped me with time management and has prepared me very well for the certification test.”

As we wrap up the first semester of the 2023-2024 TPI programs, we are thrilled to see so many students earning college credit through Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University and Ball State University. Our students have also been preparing for industry-recognized certifications while participating in their TPI programs. While many students will take their exams once the first year of programming has been completed, some programs offered certifications after the first semester. We are proud to announce that our students excelled at their exams and earned the following industry-recognized credentials: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nurse Aid (CNA), CompTia A+ Core1 (Cybersecurity) and the National Healthcare Association Certified Pharmacy Tech certification. These credentials will help our students stand out in the job market and present themselves as highly qualified candidates to potential employers.

As we begin the second semester, we are eager to see our students continue to excel. We are proud of our students’ achievements and look forward to seeing them thrive in their future endeavors. We are already working on program planning for year 2 and are excited to announce that we have many new programs in store for the 2024-2025 school year. Stay tuned to learn more about our upcoming programs, which include Precision Agriculture, Aviation Management and Veterinary Science, among others.
